Love Note: I Guess We Have Everything We Need

Love Note: I Guess We Have Everything We Need

Lately I have taken up the practice of listing the things I am grateful for at the most basic level.

Clean drinking water.  Gas in my car.  Food in my refrigerator. Winnie, warm and healthy, cuddled up in the crook of my knee.

I count every one of my friends.  I say thank you for every person I love.

By listing my gratitude for the basics, I see how all my needs are taken care of.

Suddenly, areas of my life that looked like a broken tail light held together with duct tape begin to take on the appearance of a fancy halogen bulb; pristine and burning bright.

I once heard the author SARK tell a story about a family member who had a clutter problem.

It grated on her nerves to see their home in such a mess.

One day, she sat down on this person's bed, and to her surprise, sat down right on top of a bag of potato chips.

She looked up into this person's eyes and said with compassion,

"Well, I guess now we have everything we need."

Just a reminder today, as you stand in your own river of abundance, to remember put on your red-framed readers and take a good look.

Grateful for YOU,

Kitty
